Destination XL posts marginal growth in holiday sales

Destination XL Group, Inc. has announced that total sales for the nine-week holiday sales period ended January 4, 2020 increased 0.4 percent to 103.1 million dollars, while comparable sales in omni-channel retail business for the same period also increased 0.4 percent. Zumiez Inc. has announced that the company's comparable sales increased 6.8 percent for the nine-week period ended January 4, 2020 compared to the 4 percent increase recorded in the same period ended January 5, 2019.

Clearance activity drives weekly sales of womenswear at John Lewis

Total sales at John Lewis were down 5.8 percent for the week to January 11, 2020, as the company said, customer shopping for bargains slowed, in what was the second week of Clearance, and the mild weather impacted fashion sales.
Fashion sales for the week under review were down 1.5 percent but sales of womenswear rose 8.7 percent driven by Clearance and demand for new season own brand collections, while women's accessories sales were up 0.6 percent.
