The takeaway from Mark Badgley and James Mischka's fall runway was an injection of ease into their high-glam universe. The designers travel the world to engage with clients, who tell them they need special pieces that can take them from day to dinner without the fussiness of an overwrought gown. Fashion designers are often creative magpies, pecking at different themes and inspirations that they put together to ultimately tell a story. For Libertine's Johnson Hartig, his season's storyline didn't start off in a linear way. “I was thinking about China, opium dens, Art Deco and my mother who died in November and was born in the 1930s,” Hartig said.

Piotrek Panszczyk and Beckett Fogg are champions of an eclectic style that is all their own. Their proclivity for a good dose of lamé and high-shine, high-gloss, crystal-studded glam put them on the map. They've been focused on expanding that repertoire, first with last season's colorful daywear, now with a rounded-out wardrobe that's still eccentric but now has some depth and grit.

After gaining momentum over the past few years - you'd likely recognize her Instagram-famous puffy, quilted jackets among this season's street style stars - designer Sandra Sandor decided it was time to present her line, Nanushka, at New York Fashion Week.
