Native Shoes Has Created the First Fully Compostable Sneaker

Vancouver-based sneaker makers Native Shoes has just created the world's first and only 100 percent biodegradable sneaker, made entirely from plant-based materials.
Founded in 2009, the Canadian footwear company has dedicated itself to being 100 percent lifecycle managed by 2023, and the Plant Shoe is the first step towards achieving that goal. The non-chemical and non-animal-derived shoe utilizes an array of plant-based materials in its construction. Above, the entire upper is made from carded pineapple husk and organic cotton.
